Journalism, how to explain this? Interesting, something to get one of their shell, especially if your shy.
Lately I have had to go up to strangers and interview for articles or columns. At first I waned to just cry and run way because I feel like an awkward person but after many interviews you have an ‘I don’t care’ feeling. One because you may never see that person again, if your lucky.
The interesting part about journalism is you never know how your day is going to go, you don’t know how your interview will go.
Kei Ann and myself interviewed someone who is still learning English and it was hard, but we both felt awful because we didn’t know how to treat the situation correctly. We did a lot of apologizing and a lot of explaining longer and taking time. I mean, we were in a hot seat (awkward position) for 35mins. Thankfully the person we interviewed was nice, polite, and didn’t get upset, that we know of, the effort that was put into trying to answer was what mattered.
I love writing. I may be a more of fiction writing type, but journalism is still something I would consider. Especially radio, I grew up listening to the radio always admired how they are funny and how human they sound.
QUICK! I can no longer say I haven’t eaten chipotle! Like the journalists Kei Ann and Alli are, they took a billion pictures of me chewing away my tofu bowl!
I had fun this entire week, there were ups and downs but I’m sure that's the every day of journalism. I really grew to care for my entire team, there a interesting group of journalist!
