I was surprised by how much the journalism workshop has pushed me. It made me come out of my shell! After interviewing what felt like hundreds of people, I noticed how much I gained in confidence. I became a much more outgoing person.
Today was such a great day and throughout the week, the program had continued to surprise me with how much I was able to make conversation and connect with people. At first I felt very shy, I was not comfortable with approaching people that I don’t know. It felt awkward and weird! But eventually, as I interview more people, I became much more comfortable and was able to strike up a conversation with almost anyone! I felt invincible for a moment. :D Of course there’s also the time crunch that might have contributed to the equation, but let’s give this moment to me ;)
After so many interviews, I was like, “Give me more people to interview!” I was excited, I was pumped. As what Ms. Elena said, “I caught the bug.” Not gonna lie, I am so going to miss interviewing people! lol
I learned so much about myself throughout the week.
I can strike up a conversation with someone.

I can rise up to the occasion.
I can do journalism.
I can do journalism.
I can do more.
I can help.
I learned that I can.
The workshop gave me the opportunity to connect with people, to learn and explore, to gain experience in the field of journalism, to create friendship, and to see myself in a different light. I came here hoping to learn, explore, and expand my options. I wanted to better my English and improve my writing. I came out with new knowledge and relationships, and as a much better person. I changed and I like it :)
