Born in Poland, Anna Augustowska came to Arizona and is a University of Arizona graduate who has her master’s degree in journalism. She is a multimedia producer and has years of experience working for television stations in Poland and in Arizona. Her father encouraged her to get her degree in economics so she went to school and got her degree. There was a new show in Poland that was looking for a new television host, and there was casting happening in her home town so she decided to go for it. This new show involved different hosting activities which interested her enough to get another degree in multimedia. When visiting her friends who live in Arizona in 2009, Anna immediately, "Fell in love with the campus." When here in Arizona, she visited the lab here at the U of A and enjoyed how it was a, “Hands on school." Anna said she, “Enjoys the visual way of telling stories and showing people who don’t have access to see the reality in multimedia.” During her years here at the U of A her most challenging aspects she faced were operating the technology that she had to use, and completing assignments with the right materials and meeting deadlines. Anna encourages students to,” Keep reading, find different angles when writing a story and to feed the brain with different ideas.” She also thinks that applying to this workshop is an advantage because in this generation we are born into technology and participating in this workshop is a plus.
Today Brianna and I worked on our story. We emailed several sources, and waited all day for a response. We stayed inside all day in the nice air conditioned room. Once we opened the door to go outside after the day was complete, the heat instantly killed us. We then took a nice walk down University Drive, and stopped at the CVS to get some snacks for the evening.
