Twelve high school students from across Arizona are in Tucson for the Dow Jones News Fund Journalism Diversity workshop. The students are learning media law, photojournalism, and multimedia. Elena Stauffer is the workshop director. She says the purpose of the workshop is to expose students to a higher education setting
Elena: "and also to teach them about diversity in journalism. Participants get to talk to students on campus about what it takes to succeed in college and they live in dorms to get a sense of what it's like to live on campus."
The students work together to create a newspaper by the end of the week while focusing on the importance of multimedia in today's world.
